Wisdom Within A Wee Bloom

When seeking beauty, one must consider the scale against which an object most pleasing to the eye is measured. With the exotic jaw-dropping hues of a perfect sunset, you marvel not only at its epic beauty, but also the collaborative effort achieved by so many climactic actions working in tandem to create such mind-blowing pleasure. It’s almost a sensory overload. However, I, for one, have always felt the greatest sense of wonder while exploring the infinitesimal world beneath my feet. While the itty-bitty revelations at ground level don’t hold the bragging rights of grand vistas, they offer appeal in quieter tones to see if we’re really paying attention. When I perceive the smallest flower popping out of the unforgiving wintry earth, I am filled with even more awe, gratitude, and respect. After all, how much assistance does a teensy-weensy, singular bloom receive? As if by its own sheer will, the tiny work of art pushes past the hard-packed soil and emerges not it seems on the set schedule of nature but rather with the determination and intent to exert its own will whether anyone sees it and applauds, or not. Even as a microcosm, the little bud proves its power to itself within a vast world always woo-hooing The Next Big Thing. So, I am left to ponder this: if a flower smaller than the end of a pen can show such fortitude, determination, and disregard for irrelevant accolades, what’s stopping us from plowing ahead with our own lofty goals and intentions? Just as winter begins to lessen its hold and before spring gives us a free pass to glory, how grand it must feel to be like this wee bloom emerging on its own bold clock to fresh air and light and, more importantly, independence and self empowerment!
